St. John’s Primary School, Tisbury, is a Church of England Voluntary Controlled School within the Diocese of Salisbury. The school has strong links with St John’s Church. Tony Kent is a Foundation Governor, and two other members of our congregation are also governors. Our Rector, the Revd Robert Church, leads Collective Worship regularly at the school, and the children enjoy regular visits by a team including church members for Open the Book.
Church members support the school in various other ways, notably in helping with the reading programme.
School services take place at the church throughout the year, at Harvest, Christmas and Easter, led by the children. A special service is held at the end of the school year for the Year 6 children who are about to leave and go on to secondary school.
