I moved to Tisbury with my wife Christina in 1986. I am a keen bell-ringer locally, across the Diocese and beyond. I have also been Honorary Secretary of the Salisbury Diocesan Guild of Ringers since 1995. As well as serving as a Churchwarden, I am chairman of the church’s Fabric Committee, taking responsibility for making sure the church remains in good repair.

I have attended St. John’s since 1979, originally attending the 8 o’clock service on Sundays. When my wife Leo joined the choir, we found that our three children were no more badly behaved than others, so I changed to attending the 9.30 service.  At the church I have been involved with setting up Christmas candles, clock-winding and administering the chalice and more recently holy mowing. Now that I have retired from my medical practice in the village, I am glad to be able to play a greater part in the work of the church by becoming a church warden.
