Women’s World Day of Prayer

The Revd Joanna Naish

Our new Associate Priest

On 3rd May we formally welcomed the Revd Joanna Naish to the Benefice as an Associate Priest. She was licensed during a Sung Eucharist in St John’s Church by the Archdeacon of Sarum, the Venerable Alan Jeans (pictured).

The preacher was the Team Rector, the Revd Dr Graham Southgate.

After studying Russian, Joanna Naish worked as a language teacher in Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire. She trained for the priesthood at Sarum College, was ordained in 2009 and served her curacy in the Parish of the Woodford Valley with Archers Gate, and then worked there and in Amesbury as Associate priest.  Jo moved to Tisbury in early 2017 with her husband Geoff; they have three grown up children. Jo is interested in art, history and music and loves being outdoors, spending free time walking whenever possible.

Jo’s appointment means there are two Associate Priests in the Nadder Valley Benefice.  A new Team Vicar the Revd Elaine Brightwell will be licensed on Friday 9th June at 7pm.  The Team Vicar vacancy caused by the retirement of the Revd Andrew Staley in January, will be advertised later this year.
