The late Queen Elizabeth II

Sunday 18th September 6pm

A message from Revd Juliette Hulme, Parish Priest.

Dear Friends,

It is with great sadness that we mourn the death of our Queen. Our services this week will include readings and prayers especially for this period of mourning.

On Sunday 18th September, the late Queen will be remembered at our 0930 service which is a Parish Communion in a time of national mourning.

In the evening we will be holding a special service of commemoration to mark her passing. The service which begins at 6pm, includes readings, prayers and hymns and appropriate music by Henry Purcell, SS Wesley and Herbert Howells.The service will close with the National Anthem.

A prayer on the death of Her Majesty the Queen

Gracious God, we give thanks for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth, for her faith and her dedication to duty. Bless our nation as we mourn her death and may her example continue to inspire us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A prayer for our new King, Charles III

Everlasting God, we pray for our new King.
Bless his reign and the life of our nation.
Help us to work together
so that truth and justice, harmony and fairness
flourish among us;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
