Cycle ride to Iona

‘Go the extra mile’ campaign

One of our clergy, the Revd Jo Naish has set off for the historic island of Iona in Western Scotland by pedal power. Her bicycle ride is a distance of around 600 miles. She is raising funds for “Go the extra mile”; a campaign organised by the Salisbury Diocese Mothers’ Union. A range of projects are being supported, including relief holidays for families in need and help for the women’s refuge in Salisbury. As well as her local role as an associate priest, Jo is also Diocesan Chaplain to the Mothers’ Union.

To find out more and to sponsor Jo go to her online page here, where you should be able to follow her progress.

She’s pictured here with fellow associate priest the Revd Mark Hayter, and her bike – called Cuthbert.

Jo’s destination; the ancient abbey on the island of Iona founded by St Columba, and spiritual home of the Iona community.
