Two concerts for Ukraine

Friday 21st. Saturday 22nd June: 7.30pm

This will be the third year that St John’s has hosted concerts in aid of Ukraine which have formed part of the church’s annual Patronal celebrations.

The concert on Friday 21 June at 7.30pm features the outstanding pianist Alexander Karpeyev who has enthralled us for the last two years. Also performing will be the Norton Wind Ensemble, a group of local musicians.

On the following day, Saturday 22 June at 7.30pm, St John’s Church Choir, conducted by our organist Stuart Robinson, will perform Schubert’s Mass in G and Quentin Edwards will be the soloist in the first modern performance of a newly discovered flute concerto by the 18th century composer Giacobbe Cervetto. The Westclyffe Quartet will accompany him.
