Threads through Creation
A trip to Salisbury Cathedral
Members of the congregations of St John’s Tisbury and All Saints’ Fonthill Bishop, led by Revd Juliette Hulme, recently made a visit to Salisbury Cathedral. Afterwards, Juliette said, “We found the exhibition ‘Threads through Creation’ absolutely stunning.” The artist Jacqui Parkinson had created 12 spectacular scenes in fabric telling the story of creation based on Genesis 1-3. Here are some of them.
Then we all enjoyed tea in the Cloisters and ended our afternoon by attending Choral Evensong. We were warmly welcomed by the cathedral’s Canon Chancellor, and our Licensed Lay Minister, Canon Judy Anderson robed for the occasion and read a lesson.
The exhibition has now moved on to another cathedral, but here’s a link to the Salisbury Cathedral website where there is a busy schedule of services, concerts, and arts events.
