Licensed Lay Ministers

Julie Dunstan & Judy Anderson

We are served by two Licensed Lay Ministers (LLMs): Canon Judy Anderson and Julie Dunstan.

Judy was admitted and licensed as a Reader (now known as LLM) in 1992, and has ministered in the Nadder Valley since 2003.  Since then she has led worship regularly throughout the benefice, and so is often in churches other than St John’s on a Sunday. More widely, she is  Associate Warden of Licensed Lay Ministers for the Diocese of Salisbury, working with the Bishop of Sherborne to look after the LLMs of the diocese.  She represents St John’s on Chalke Deanery Synod, and the deanery on Diocesan Synod; she is also a member of the LLM Development Group.  In 2018 she was honoured to be appointed a Lay Canon of Salisbury Cathedral.
Judy also serves St John’s as Parish Administrator.

Julie was licensed to the Nadder Valley Benefice by the Archdeacon of Sarum during a service at St John’s in May 2023, and was formally welcomed into the Diocese of Salisbury at the annual LLM service in Salisbury Cathedral in September 2023.  Each month she preaches and/or leads worship in one or more of the churches in the local area.  Julie is also an experienced psychotherapist and spiritual director in the Salisbury Diocese. She is the Network Coordinator for Wiltshire and Dorset Spiritual Accompaniment, which operates in partnership with the Diocese of Salisbury.
