Humphrey’s ‘back’.
Sunday 28th June 0930
We are delighted to welcome the Right Revd Humphrey Southern as the preacher at our online service of Holy Communion this Sunday 28th June at 0930. He was Team Rector of Tisbury from 1999 to 2007 and is now Principal of Ripon College Cuddesdon, a theological college in Oxfordshire. You can read his full biography on the college website here.
Humphrey Southern’s preaching engagement for this Sunday was arranged before the current pandemic. He would have been in St John’s in person to speak at our Patronal Festival; the annual occasion when we celebrate the saint after whom the church is named. The actual feast day of St John the Baptist is on June 24th each year. Hindon Parish Church is also named after St John, and the President at Sunday’s service is the Revd Mark Hayter, the Parish Priest for Hindon, Chicklade and Pertwood.
At the moment all services in the Nadder Valley Benefice are taking place online using Zoom – the video conferencing facility. To take part in Sunday’s service you need to log online as follows:
Calls are charged at national rate, but they may already be included in your telephone package. It might be an idea to check!
The order of service may be found on the Church of England website here.
