Ash Wednesday
5th March: 1000
Ash Wednesday (5th March) marks the beginning of the six-week season of Lent, which takes us up to Easter towards the end of April.
This year our Ash Wednesday service – a service of Holy Communion led by the Revd Nigel Worn – will take place at 1000, in St Andrew’s Chapel. It will include the Imposition of Ashes – a ritual practised on Ash Wednesday to remind us “that we are dust, and unto dust shall we return’. All are welcome.
There is no evening service at St John’s, Tisbury – if you are unable to come in the morning, you would be most welcome to join the congregation at St John the Baptist, Hindon, for their service at 6.00pm.
